McFly are spending so much time on TV that they’re almost a group of reality TV stars more than a group of pop-rockers, with Harry Judd recently winning Strictly Come Dancing and Dougie Poynter crowned champion of ‘I’m a Celebrity…’. Now, Poynter and bandmate Tom Fletcher will face 12 questions from legendary host Chris Tarrant – as they’ve signed up to appear on Celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

The band-members will be hoping to raise as much money as they can for charity as the 14 year-old game-show lines-up two holiday specials. The boys will take part in the second, which will see them paired up alongside the unlikely duo of Lee Mack and Stacey Solomon, as well as Sara Cox and Richard Madeley. This episode is set to air on January 3rd.

The first festive episode will also feature couples of celebs – this time pairing up British Olympic boxer Amir Khan with comedian Jason Manford, X-Factor star Matt Cardle with New Romantic bassist Martin Kemp, Javelin medallist Fatima Whitbread with Opera-style singer Russell Watson and superstar chef Heston Blumenthal with ITV presenter Kate Garraway. You can catch all the celebs on ITV this Monday.

Sara Cox is looking to raise cash for homeless charity Centrepoint, and said: “I’ve always wanted to find out what it’s like to be in the Millionaire hot seat and luckily I’ve got Richard to hold my hand if it all gets too much. I’ve got my fingers crossed that we can raise lots of cash for Centrepoint and open the New Year with a bang.”

If you’d rather see McFly playing their hits on stage than answering questions on TV, you can catch them when they tour the UK in spring next year. To get tickets, check the dates and details below.

I added to the gallery some new pics of Dougie and Tom filming Who Wants to be a Millionaire yesterday, and remember that the show will be aired on January 3.

When Harry Judd was crowned as the winner of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night we were happy for him, but we were also left feeling a little sad. Not only did it spell the end of watching Harry showing off his muscles/gyrating his hips/generally looking fit on the telly every Saturday night, but it also meant there would be no more McFly boys on TV either. Bad times.

We’d gotten used to seeing Harry’s super-supportive bandmates grinning for the camera in the Strictly audience – and we actually looked forward to seeing them each week, too.

When Strictly finished we decided that we needed to see more of McFly on our screens and so via Twitter we asked for your suggestions for the shows you’d like to see the boys in next. Your tweets ranged from the sensible – lots of you said Come Dine With Me – to the silly (but also quite brilliant) How To Look Good Naked!

It looks like our prayers have been very quickly answered, as Dougie Poynter and Tom Fletcher are due to appear on a Who Wants To Be A Millionaire special on 3 January. YAY!

McFly have performed very well on TV recently, and Tom admitted he was scared he was “going to completely “b**** up” the boys’ good run! To find out how Tom and Dougie get on, you’ll have to tune in on 3 Jan.

THE McFly boys will be hoping their lucky streak continues — as two of the band take part in a Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? festive special.
Bassist Dougie Poynter took the I’m A Celebrity crown and and drummer Harry Judd waltzed off with this year’s Strictly trophy.

Now King of the Jungle Dougie is being joined by singer Tom Fletcher for the ITV1 quiz show, to be screened on January 3.

And they’ll both be hoping their general knowledge will help them win pots of cash for their chosen charities.

Before filming the show yesterday, nervous Tom admitted he was worried he was “going to completely “b**** up” the band’s run of success.

Among other famous faces taking to the Millionaire hotseat in the New Year episode are Stacey Solomon, Lee Mack, Richard Madeley and Sara Cox.

There will also be a special live WWTBAM episode tonight, when host Chris Tarrant will quiz guests including Matt Cardle, Jason Manford, Fatima Whitbread, Heston Blumenthal and Amir Khan.

McFly will try to build on their TV success, hot on the heels of Harry Judd’s joy on Strictly Come Dancing.

Judd’s fellow band members Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter are to take part in a celebrity special of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
The show, which also features chef Heston Blumenthal, X Factor winner Matt Cardle and boxer Amir Khan, will be broadcast on ITV on January 3.

The Strictly win, and Poynter’s victory on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here… earlier this month, had made 2011 an amazing year, Judd told BBC radio.
‘It’s a Mc-double,’ he added. ‘Dougie’s my man, Dougie’s done it. Dougie is the king, I’m sure he will say I am the queen.’
Thanking fans for all their support, 25-year-old Judd said: ‘What an amazing year, we never ever expected it. We are two happy lads.’
More than 12million viewers watched Judd and dance partner Aliona Vilani in the BBC1 Strictly finale on Saturday.
The main programme drew an average 12.2million viewers while 11.8million watched the results.

McFly cuties are hoping to get a HAT-TRICK of TV show wins on Millionaire.

THE McFly cuties are hoping to continue their winning streak with a hat-trick of TV show wins.

Following Dougie Poynter taking the I’m A Celebrity jungle crown and Harry Judd waltzing to victory in the Strictly Come Dancing final, the boys are now taking on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Dougie and bandmate Tom Fletcher – who has been cheering his pals on during their telly challenges – are hoping to bag another win by appearing on the new year edition of the hit show.

The pair have filmed their appearance on the celebrity special, where they faced some tough questions from quiz master Chris Tarrant.

Tom kept tight-lipped about how they fared on the show, teasing: “Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire done! I won’t tell you how we did, you’ll have to watch it and find out.”

Check out Tom and Dougie’s appearance on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? on January, 3

Other stars due to appear in a pair of festive shows include culinary superstar Heston Blumenthal, X Factor winner Matt Cardle and boxing champ Amir Khan.
