Random House Children’s Publishers (RHCP) are delighted to announce that The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas has won the Publishing Innovation Award for Best Ebook in the Children’s category at the Digital Book World Conference in New York last night.
The Publishing Innovation Awards honor the most innovative ebooks, enhanced ebooks, and book apps in several categories. It is the mission of the PIAs to highlight excellent publishers and authors, encourage new thinking, and improve the reading experience in the digital age. The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas fought off stiff competition from favourites such as SpongeBob Squarepants.

The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas written by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter from McFly and illustrated by Garry Parsons was published last October. It spent 3 weeks at No.1 on the TCM Children’s Picture Book Chart and sold over 50,000 copies. The Bookseller called it ‘A work of genius’.

This innovative enhanced eBook was created by the RHCP editorial and design teams working in conjunction with the RHG Digital team and digital content company, Stunjelly. The aim was to create a fun and engaging reading experience for young readers that brought the book to life. It contains a full reading of the book by Tom and Dougie along with sound effects and animation and has sold over 2000 copies.

The Random House Group previously won the Publishing Innovation Award for The Magic of Reality App.
