Or at least, they would, if only they could stop playing with kids toys for more than five seconds

Up until about five minutes ago, if you’d asked us where we’d have liked to be yesterday, we’d have probably said hanging out with Prince Harry at the Dark Knight Rises premiere. But now we’ve changed our minds. Because we’ve just heard that One Direction spent their Wednesday afternoon hanging out in Tom Fletcher’s pad with the rest of McFly. And we’re kicking ourselves in the forehead for not sneaking in through the bathroom window and joining them.

“Had the 1D boys over my place today for some song writing,” Tom tweeted, presumably in the hope of making millions of teenage girls throw things jealous looks in his direction.

And Danny joined in, adding: “Great sesh today with @Harry_Styles @NiallOfficial @Real_Liam_Payne @Louis_Tomlinson @zaynmalik1D Great hangin! Shame about ya fifa skills!”

Which actually suggests that there wasn’t quite as much “song writing” as Tom would like to make out. Which Niall confirmed as he tweeted a picture of Tom playing a bright purple guitar. Made of plastic. And aimed at under fives.

“This one photo describes the session with the lads today hahaha” he wrote underneath.

We’d laugh too, Niall. But we’re too busy trying to find that bathroom window.

The One Direction boys have been mates with McFly ever since they sang their way to success on the X Factor. But it sounds like these days McFly are more excited about spending time with their younger rivals than vice versa.

“I can’t wait to write more tunes for One Direction as I’m really proud of their success in America,” revealed Tom after their planned collaboration was first announced. “I haven’t been given a brief as to what kind of song they want from me; we’re just waiting to see what I come up with.”

And now even Danny seems to have developed a bit of a crush on Harry Styles.

“As a guy, he’s got the hair, he’s got the smile, he’s got the voice, he’s in one of the biggest bands in the world, that’s obviously attractive,” he said at Hard Rock Calling. “We’re quite good friends.”

Get to the back of the queue, Jones. We saw him first. Kind of.

McFly have admitted once more that they would love to work with Jessie J.

The band had previously sung her praises and picked her as their dream collaboration.

And, speaking to the Daily Star, McFly’s Danny Jones reiterated their Jessie J desire, admitting she is high on their wishlist once they start recording their new album. Speaking about their new material, Jones said:

“I know what the boys want, and everything we’re doing is sounding right and the songs are there. We can’t start recording until June ‘cos Harry’s on the Strictly tour. Once we get everything ready we’d love to get anybody who’d like to collaborate on it. When we were recording the last album with Dallas Austin, Jessie popped in and cooked us a bit of dinner so it would be cool to get her.”

It’s not been all plain sailing for McFly recently, with Tom Fletcher managing to dislocate his shoulder after a spot of promotional rugby with the Saracens team.

It’s not new that the boys want to work with Jessie J, and personally I think it would be awesome if this happens. here’s the article.

MCFLY are eyeing Jessie J for a first female collaboration.

After their hook-up with Taio Cruz, the lads want another new pop direction for their next album.

Singer/guitarist Danny Jones is steering production duties on the disc for the first time.

Danny, 25, told me: “I know what the boys want, and everything we’re doing is sounding right and the songs are there.

“We can’t start recording until June ‘cos Harry’s on the Strictly tour.

“Once we get everything ready we’d love to get anybody who’d like to collaborate on it.

“When we were recording the last album with Dallas Austin, Jessie popped in and cooked us a bit of dinner so it would be cool to get her.”

Despite drummer Harry Judd, 25, and bassist Dougie Poynter, 24, moonlighting as reality show winners of Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, the foursome, including singer/guitarist Tom Fletcher, 26, are keen to get back to their day jobs.

Danny continued: “We’re always striving for the next great song and being successful in a band is one of the best things ever. It’s up to the record label when they want to release the album but I would like to get something out this year.”

This week McFly started a tour of venues around the UK before Saracens and Aviva bring the band to London’s Wembley Arena on March 31 for a pre-game and half-time show at the Aviva Premiership Rugby clash against Harlequins.

McFly have revealed that they would like to work with Jessie J on their next record.

The group, who are currently working on their sixth studio LP, said in an interview with Digital Spy that it would be a “dream” to work with the ‘Price Tag’ singer.

Harry Judd said: “I haven’t spoken to the guys about it but we’re definitely open to collaborating again. We’re just starting to play the label the new songs, so we’ll see.

“In a dream world I’d love to work with so many people. A female artist would be great – Jessie J would be amazing, though she’s obviously doing extremely well at the moment. In a dream world!”

The drummer also admitted that their forthcoming album will sound “a bit more raw” than 2010’s Above The Noise, adding: “But we’re still keen on keeping some of the more polished production in there. It’s hard to describe at the moment!”

The band previously worked with Taio Cruz on ‘Shine A Light’, which peaked at number four on the singles chart in November 2010.

Judd recently admitted that McFly took their success for granted with their last LP, which peaked at number 20 on the charts.
