Tickets to see McFly as the headline act for Telford’s first major outdoor gig continue to sell with just over 4,000 tickets remaining.

The T-Live event has continued to attract strong interest from fans eager to see McFly play a 75 minute set in Telford Town Park Arena on Saturday 7 September.

T-Live is part of Telford & Wrekin’s new summer festival T-Party, a double weekend of celebration which is expected to attract more than 20,000 people.

It starts during the weekend of August 30-September 1 when the Town Park Arena will host theatre performances, street entertainment, music and dancing.

T-Party will begin with a ‘Place in the Park’ event – Rain or Shine Theatre Company performing Shakespeare’s A Comedy Of Errors on the evening of Friday August 30 followed by a day of activities in the park on Saturday August 31.

The line up includes the Shaun The Sheep Championsheeps, storytellers, poets, craft and art workshops, puppets performance and street artists, markets with local food and produce.

The evening event on Saturday will be an Electro Swing Ball in the Festival marquee – a non-stop performance of live bands, swinging DJs, beautiful burlesque, circus performers, professional dancers and cabaret.

Sunday will be more of a more relaxed affair as we invite you to a picnic in the park, with a community bake off and fancy dress competitions to judged by a celebrity guest.

“T-Party promises to be a fantastic double weekend of entertainment for all the family which will maximise the wonderful asset we have in the Town Park and its QEII Fields In Trust Arena,” said Council Leader Kuldip Sahota.

“There has been an awful lot of excitement among residents since McFly were announced last week and I am sure tickets for the concert will be snapped up in no time at all, so I would urge people to make sure they don’t miss out.”

T-Party will culminate with T-Live the following weekend on September 7 when McFly and support acts will take to the stage for probably the biggest outdoor gig the borough has ever seen.

Tickets cost £35 for adults and £30 for 11-16 year olds but Telford Loyalty Card holders can snap up their tickets for £32 and £28 respectively. Tickets for 5-10 year olds will be just £10 and Under Fives will get in free but need to be booked by phone.

Tickets are available from Telford Ice Rink and Oakengates Theatre @ The Place, online at http://www.theplacetelford.com or by calling the box office on 01952 382382. People buying tickets who have special requirements should contact the box office.
