Supergroup McBusted are going back on the road through March and April, following on from their massively successful 2014 tour.

Last year, the band took to arenas around the country for the first time as McBusted, and they even headlined British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

The band, who put on a great show last year have spoken briefly about what fans can expect this year and if we know anything, we know they’re not afraid to try different things.

Last year featured a mixture of both group’s biggest hits, funny video packages and hanging above the stage, three inflatable breasts, yes three, we’re not sure why – but why not!

The tour will kick off on the 12th of March in Glasgow for two dates before the band head off to the likes of Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham.

This will lead them into April where the ‘Air Guitar’ superstars will perform in London, Brighton, Cardiff, Nottingham, Dublin and Belfast to name but a few – the full list shown below.

McBusted’s Matt Willis spoke with the Nottingham Post and confessed that the band believe they have topped the shows they put on last year.

He revealed: “It’s different from the last tour. Last tour was amazing and we tried really hard to make it the best possible show for people who came.

“When you have something that’s really big and amazing, it’s quite hard to top that. But we think we’ve done it. Everything looks awesome, we sound better and the set list is a killer.”

Earlier this month it was revealed that McBusted would be supporting worldwide phenomenon’s One Direction on their tour next month.

The group confirmed the news in a YouTube video and explained that they will be supporting One Direction on their ‘On The Road Again 2015′ tour which kicks off in Australia.

If you haven’t heard their debut single ‘Air Guitar’ which was the first to be lifted from their self-titled debut album then check out this live performance below.

POP rock supergroup McBusted return to Merseyside as part of their new tour later this year.

Harry Judd, Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter, Danny Jones, James Bourne and Matt Willis first played the Echo Arena in Liverpool last year and are back at the riverside venue on March 31.

The band, which features members from rock bands McFly and Busted, played to a staggering 350,000 people on their first tour last year.

The Globe caught up with them backstage at the Echo Arena this afternoon during a promotional tour for the show.

Looking forward to their Liverpool return, Dougie said: “We can’t wait, it’s going to be really cool.

“We last played here last March and have appeared two or three times as Busted or McFly. It was amazing. It’s a good arena.”

Asked how audiences differ in each city, Harry told the Globe: “Every city we go to we’re asked the same question and it’s quite hard to answer.

“It’s more the atmosphere in the arenas that varies, and we’re fortunate to have very receptive audiences.

“We’ve always been blessed with that; which makes our job easier.”

Once the current tour is over, the band are off supporting One Direction on their Australian tour.

Tom Fletcher said: “It’s funny, because we’ve never supported other bands before.

“What’s cool about is that it keeps you on your feet. You have to win people over. So no responsibility or pressure then!

“I’m looking forward to the fact that we’re supporting; it’s only a half hour set. Which means we can smash it and enjoy the rest of the show.”

Asked what fans can expect during the new tour, Harry said: “We’ll be doing stuff from the new album and our hits.

“We’ve been lucky to do these two tours and I think the history of both bands has been a big pull for people to come.

“We’ve got some exciting ideas for the stage. The fun thing with this band is that we put on a real show; it’s not just about the music, it’s about entertaining people and putting on a real show.

“Our job is to come up with fun ideas that make us laugh.”

James Bourne added: “This is the second time McBusted has been on tour, so we’ve learned from the first time.

“We’re not fans of bands who just play new material on tour, so we’re going to play old and new stuff.”

On the band’s longevity, Tom said: “The secret of our success is that we’re pretty rubbish at everything else; so we don’t know what else we’d do if we didn’t do this.”

Wirral YouTube sensation Bronnie Hughes caught the attention of Tom Fletcher when she uploaded her cover version of the bands hit Air Guitar.

The 17-year-old, from Caldy, won an international covers competition organised by American Idol presenter Ryan Seacrest after battling it out on YouTube for international exposure.

Within half an hour of uploading her version of Air Guitar been re-tweeted by Tom Fletcher. He said: “I remember tweeting it; it was a good version.

“Youtube is an incredible platform. It’s not the only way, but it can definitely get you out there.”

Tickets for their Echo Arena show are from the box office on 0844 8000 400.

Pop rock supergroup McBusted descended on Nottingham ahead of their second national arena tour.

The mash-up of noughties boy bands Busted and McFly (including members Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter, Harry Judd, James Bourne and Matt Willis) visited Nottingham on Tuesday to talk Sherwood Forest, Vicky McClure, One Direction – and the latest sporting trend ‘foot golf’.

Speaking to the Post, Danny said: “Has foot golf come up here yet?”

Harry added: “You tee off with a football and you’ve got to get it in the hole – I really want a game.”

The lads – who performed three sell-out shows in Nottingham last year, including a secret gig – are back at the 10,000-capacity Capital FM Arena on April 18 and 19 for an arcade-inspired themed concert.

Matt said: “It’s different from the last tour. Last tour was amazing and we tried really hard to make it the best possible show for people who came.

“When you have something that’s really big and amazing, it’s quite hard to top that. But we think we’ve done it. Everything looks awesome, we sound better and the set list is a killer.”

And the boys are keeping the set list under close lock and key – but did say it would include a mix of classic hits such as Year 3000 and Five Colours in Her Hair and brand new songs from their debut album.

Matt said: “I’m looking forward to playing some of the new songs. Don’t get me wrong, we’re playing all the big hits too – we’re going to play what people want to hear.”

Tickets for the two shows are on sale now priced at £46.48 (including administration fee). They can be purchased online at capitalfmarena.com.
