Dougie is the bass player and backing vocalist of british pop-rock band McFly. He has co-writer credits on many of McFly's tracks, including the lead writer credit on their 2007 number one single "Transylvania". Poynter also wrote an unrecorded track called Silence Is A Scary Sound, which is featured as a live recording on their third studio album Motion In The Ocean. Poynter was 15 when he joined the band. Because of his young age, Dougie and the other members of McFly hold the record for the youngest band to ever have a debut album go straight to number one, a record previously held by The Beatles. McFly are currently recording their 6th studio album... keep reading.

This says the Get Over It single was released yesterday but actually it hasn’t been released yet.
We review the latest single releases, with new tracks from Fergie, McBusted and Selena Gomez officially out in the UK today (January 25).
McBusted: ‘Get Over It’
We were left slightly disappointed by the lack of public enthusiasm for McBusted’s debut single ‘Air Guitar’ after it peaked at number 12 in the UK charts. Not ones to let that bother them though, the supergroup have pushed forward with their new mantra ‘Get Over It’ and bloodily massacre their office managers in the accompanying music video. Its chanting callout, chewy guitar riffs and sasspot energy makes it a prime blowout for their upcoming live shows, but we’re hesitant to predict that it will make as big an impact on the charts.
McBusted are going to do a quick stop in Japan next week before heading to Australia to join the One Direction boys, they’ll be in Tokyo to do some promotion and a photoshoot according to Tom. Actually universal records in Japan is doing a competition and the 20 lucky fans that win it will meet the boys. You can enter the competition HERE
Today the boys finally revealed how their new tour is going to be named and a promotional poster for it. The name of the tour is “McBusted’s Most Excellent Adventure Tour”. What do you think of the name? you like it?
THE Supergroup will return to Glasgow’s SSE Hydro in March with their latest tour which is based on the theme of the cult film.
IF you thought McBusted’s last tour was impressive with their entrance in a Delorean and trip on a UFO, then prepare for another spectacle.
The lads are back in March with a tour based on the theme of cult film Bill n Ted’s Most Excellent adventure and we can only imagine what they have in store.
Could they be having weird encounters with Genghis Khan, Joan of Arc, Abraham Lincoln and Beethoven?
It’s anybody’s guess but it will be most excellent we know. Brain fryingly exciting, the show promises to thrill with hits including Year 3000, Five Colours In Her Hair, Air Hostess, Crashed the Wedding and a whole load of brand new hits from McBusted’s forthcoming album.
The boys – James Bourne and Matt Willis of Busted and McFly’s Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd sold out 35 arenas last time round and travel to Australia next month to support One Direction.
They are coming to Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on March 12 and 13 with briefs available from ticketmaster.co.uk
Ellie Goulding and McBusted’s Dougie Poynter have been joint at the hip since they started dating early last year, and judging from these photos from the Versace fashion show in Paris yesterday, they look so similar they could have actually been separated from each other’s hip at birth. Is that a weird thing to say? Um.
Sitting FROW (naturally, dahling), Ellie and Dougie wore all black errythang at the opening catwalk event of Haute Couture Fashion Week, and looked totally glam and loved up. As usual.
Ellie wore a long-sleeved maxi black mesh dress with funky gold hoops and a blow dry to die for. It had a mahoosive split up the right hand side, and revealed a sneaky bit of mid-driff in the middle. Ooer. She kept her lashes long and her make up natural, and gahhhhd her tan is so good.
As for the Doug-miester, he looked equally cool in all things black, throwing an oversized leather biker jacket over a black tshirt and shiny-look skinny jeans. Like El, he wore a statement earring, had hair we could only DREAM about and stubble even the beardiest of men would be jealous of.
Goals. We’d take Dougie or Ellie’s look TBH, not fussy. Thoughts? Aren’t they just a dream? Which outfit do you prefer? Let us know @Sugarscape, tah.
