McFly have announced that they will star in their own ITV1 show in the next few weeks, titled The McFly Show, which will see the band perform several of their hits in addition to acting out spoofs.

The ‘Love Is Easy’ hitmakers will take to the stage in front of a live audience to perform some of their most popular songs in a one-off hour-long show that will screen before the X Factor finale next month.

Tom Fletcher confirmed the show on Twitter over the weekend, writing: “So we’ve got some pretty darn exciting mcfly news for you all.”

“We will have our own hour long tv show in a few weeks on itv1 called The McFly Show!!!!”

The Daily Star reported last week that in addition to the performances, the foursome will act out a series of sketches making light of certain events in their career, including Dougie Poynter’s stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ and Harry Judd’s appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.

“McFly are still really popular after all these years so ITV producers jumped at the chance to sign them up,” a source told the newspaper recently.

“It’ll be a great hour of music, comedy and some celeb guests.”

The TV special will air on December at 7pm, just an hour before the X Factor finale broadcasts. “To get a slot just before the X Factor final is a pretty big deal. If it gets good ratings there’s a chance the lads could even be given their own series,” the insider added.

McFly’s fans in the UK had better make the most of seeing them as much as possible, with reports that they are close to signing a record deal in the US.

Fletcher told the Daily Star last month: “They were the first American live shows we’d done in nine years, and all four sold out straight away.”

He continued, “But we don’t have a record deal there.”

“We wanted to get people down to watch us so they can see how McFly are in their mid-20s. We got a lot of interest from labels. They are waiting to hear the new stuff.

“It’s weird because we don’t know how we might fit in over there now. Are we more Maroon 5 or One Direction these days?”
