The first night of this year’s Live at Kingsholm events kicked off on Thursday evening with McFly in town as part of their Memory Lane tour.

The four piece boy band had fans queuing up at Kingsholm Stadium overnight with their tents to secure the best spot to watch the band play into the summer evening.
And McFly didn’t disappoint!

After support acts The Strutts and The Vamps warmed up the screaming crowd, the main event was breathless and energetic and included songs such as Five Colours in her Hair and Stargirl.

The band didn’t restrict themselves to playing their own repertoire, changing the pace halfway through with covers of “I Saw Her Standing There” and “Superstition”.

The crowd absolutely lapped it up, and the band themselves looked as though they were having the time of their lives as they delivered a superb evening’s entertainment.

The ninety minute set to almost 6,000 people set the tone for the Live At Kingsholm event with Ronan Keating next in line to entertain the Kingsholm audience.
