MCFLY kicked off three days of live music at Tynemouth Priory.

The chart-toppers played to hundreds with the backdrop of the Priory as part of the annual Mouth of the Tyne Festival, which is also on today and tomorrow.

Tonight it’s the turn of The Wanted to take to the stage, while tomorrow The South, formerly Beautiful South, and Heaven 17 will take to the stage.

The shows form part of a jam-packed weekend of music and fun across the region, including a free gig by Scouting For Girls at Bents Park, South Shields tomorrow.

The Mouth of the Tyne festival gets bigger each year and having McFly and The Wanted is a coup for the organisers.

The Wanted are the hottest boy band on the planet, having wowed the USA this year.

Mouth of the Tyne is also featuring street performers, a jazz stage, a colourful Jubilee-themed pageant, a dance stage and a fantastic range of live music performances.
