The video’s theme is nostalgia and rather dapper matching suits…

This week, McFly fans were invited to be part of the music video for the band’s upcoming new single, ‘Love Is Easy’.

McFly wants to keep the video, which was shot on Tuesday, top secret until it’s official release, but from what we’ve heard, it’s going to be something a bit different from the band’s past videos.

The day before the shoot, bassist Dougie Poynter tweeted to his one million followers: “Filming the video for Love Is Easy tomorrow, the theme is nostalgia and matching suits.”

Guitarist Danny Jones also gave us a little hint about what we’ll see in the new video, tweeting a photograph of himself with the Brit Award that the band won for Best Pop Act in 2006: “Ahhhhh!!! I remember winning this bad boy,” he wrote.

Singer and guitarist (and, in ‘Love is Easy’, pink ukulele player) Tom Fletcher told fans during the shoot that he and his fellow band members are super proud of the new video, as it is the first time the four have had a real input into one of their music videos.

The band’s loyal cameraman and video maker David Spearing directed the music video, his first major music video to date.

McFly were busy filming all day on Tuesday, and tweeted some rather dashing photographs of themselves dressed up smart for the video.

We can’t wait to see what our favourite four lads came up with.

‘Love Is Easy’ is set to be released later this year, and will be the lead single from the band’s upcoming greatest hits album.

McFly will release a separate album in 2013, with all new tracks including ‘Red’, ‘Touch The Rain’ and ‘Dowatcha’, which were previewed during the Keep Calm And Play Louder tour earlier this year.

The band’s first book, ‘Unsaid Things – Our Story’, will hit the shelves tomorrow.
