The drummer will release Get Fit, Get Happy later this year, which will be part fitness plan and part memoir
MCFLY star Harry Judd has stripped off to launch his first fitness book, after transforming his body to tackle mental health issues.
The drummer is to open up about suffering from anxiety for the first time in Get Fit, Get Happy, which will tell how he has used exercise to conquer his demons.
The star will explain how he has used fitness to redress the balance in his life with a combination of exercise and dance to make fitness fun and accessible.
The 31-year-old musician has even created a video to promote the upcoming release, in which he shows off some of his workout routine and gets topless.
Speaking about the book, Harry said: “I’ve used exercise to overcome the strains and stresses of some of the most difficult moments in my life.
“These are issues that I know many of us have, and I’m so excited to show everyone how it’s possible to use exercise in a way that is fun, fast and free to get your head in the right place, to feel good about life and to feel great about yourself.”
It promises to reveal details of the “richly researched” fitness plan behind his buff body.
During his time in McFly and supergroup McBusted, he has notched up 19 hit singles including seven No1s, as well as two No1 albums.
But his chiselled body isn’t only a result of his time in the gym.
Harry, who has 14-month-old daughter Lola with his wife Izzy Johnston, famously won Strictly Come Dancing in 2011.
The book will be published through Coronet, an imprint of Hodder & Stoughton.
Publisher Charlotte Hardman said: “Harry is incredibly passionate about encouraging people to embrace fitness as a way to make themselves feel better and to spread a bit of happiness.
“By laying bare his own life story and sharing his own personal experience of the benefits of exercise, Harry will inspire others to do the same.
“He shows us that we don’t need expensive kit, a gym membership or even lots of time to make a difference: this is a plan for everyone.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Harry and delighted about the potential for what we have to achieve together with Get Fit, Get Happy.”
