The Star Girl group will join Terry Wogan, Esther Rantzen, Lee Mack and Bobby Ball on a unique edition of Pointless Celebrities

McBusted only became a real thing earlier this week, but news about the new supergroup just keeps on coming.

This time it’s the McFly boys, who are continuing to do the rounds in the wake of their huge announcement on Monday.

The quartet will compete against each other – and four other stars – on a special Children in Need edition of Pointless Celebrities, before treating fans to a special performance at the end of the show.

Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones will make up one team, while rhythm section Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter make up another.

Also on the show will be BBC Children in Need host Terry Wogan with broadcaster Esther Rantzen, while comedian Lee Mack will be joined by Bobby Ball, who plays his father in Not Going Out.

Busted’s James Bourne and Matt Willis aren’t being left out though – McBusted will perform on TV together for the first time later in the evening.

Check out our guide about all things McBusted set for Children in Need.

When is Children in Need?
The annual televised charity show will be broadcast this Friday, with proceedings kicking off properly with Sir Terry Wogan, Tess Daly and Fearne Cotton at 7.30pm.

However, tune in early at 5.15pm for the Pointless Celebrities special as the McFly boys go head-to-head.

Will the boys be playing together?
Absolutely! Just like their tour set for next year , McBusted will feature Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry alongside Matt and James – no Charlie, of course – all performing at the same time during the telecast.

Only McFly are named for the Pointless special, but who knows what might happen?

What songs will they perform?
That’s being kept a bit of a secret – and it’s much better to keep it a surprise!
However, we do know the supergroup will be playing a medley of four songs from both band’s collections.

Why not have a look at the five songs we’d like them to collaborate on ?

Have they shared the stage before?
Fans at McFly’s 10th anniversary shows in September got a special preview of what was to come when Busted joined them on stage for a couple of songs.
