GLASGOW and the West’s number one commercial radio station, Clyde 1, has today (25 Oct) announced pop-favourites McFly will be performing at this year’s Clyde 1 LIVE concert on Friday 13 December at the SSE Hydro.

Clyde 1 LIVE, in partnership with ROX Diamonds & Thrills, is being held at the stunning new Glasgow venue and will kick off a year of celebrations to mark the station’s 40th birthday.

The McFly boys have been working hard in the studio and make their return with their new single ‘Love is on the Radio’ (available to download 24 Nov) which will be the first single from their forthcoming sixth album – due out in Spring 2014.

This will be McFly’s second appearance at Clyde 1 LIVE having kicked-off last year’s show with an incredible live performance that blew the audience away. This year, the band will once again share the stage with some of the hottest A-list pop acts with the following artists already confirmed for the night: The Saturdays, Union J, Rizzle Kicks, Little Mix, Naughty Boy, John Newman, Shane Filan, Tom Odell, Neon Jungle, The Vamps and George Bowie.

The event will be the biggest ever hosted by the station with more than 12,000 music fans expected to pack out the stunning new venue to enjoy a mix of the very best UK pop music. Tickets for the gig are already on sale at ticketSOUP.com / 0844 395 4000.

George Bowie, breakfast show host for 102.5 Clyde 1, said:

“Just when you think Clyde 1 LIVE can’t get any bigger or better, the organisers manage to pull McFly out of the hat!

“The guys from McFly bring so much energy and humour to anything they’re involved in and they’re going to be such a fantastic addition to the line-up.

“The show’s already jam-packed with some of the hottest music acts from across the UK, but I’ve heard there may be even more exciting news to come, so stay tuned to Clyde 1 to hear all the latest updates.

“With the event at the amazing SSE Hydro and a phenomenal list of acts, I can’t put into words how excited I am about this year’s Clyde 1 LIVE. I would recommend any serious pop fans to book their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!”
