Pop supergroup McBusted visited Liverpool ahead of their ECHO arena shows next spring.
Following the success of their brief reunion at the Royal Albert Hall for McFly’ s tenth anniversary concert, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd have joined forces with James Bourne and Matt Willis for a full UK arena tour, with two shows in the city.
Fans have been clamouring for the guys to take the Busted/McFly reunion to the next level and now they’re going to, under the moniker McBusted -they will perform Busted and McFly hits.
Matt told the ECHO: “It’s Busted and McFly getting together to sing the songs of Busted and McFly. We can’t wait.”
James added: “We always loved playing in Liverpool so it’s going to be great to be back here. Liverpool audiences are always fantastic so we’re going to give it everything we’ve got.”
The newly formed supergroup came together on November 11 to make the announcement, which saw the hastag #mcbusted became the number 1 worldwide trend on Twitter.
Together Busted and McFly have sold 15 million records worldwide and chalked up 14 number ones, 20 top 3 singles and 27 top ten singles.
The band are rumoured to have been offered a record deal to write new material and have said that they might pen new songs on tour and that there had been lots of interest from record companies but nothing had been signed yet.
Dougie said: “We have had some amazing nights in Liverpool. I remember we played the ECHO arena on the night of my 21st birthday and afterwards we went crazy. When we play here we’re going to party like it’s my 21st all over again.”
McBusted play the ECHO arena Liverpool on Saturday April 19 and Tuesday May 13.
