SUPERGROUP McBusted feel they’re being punked after being asked to headline Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park.
They’re still stoked by the demand for their April arena tour, which has now reached 36 dates due to massive interest.
Danny Jones, 27, told me: “We can’t believe it – it’s a dream come true.
“We started off with 11 dates, which we thought was cocky – and we keep getting calls about adding more.”
Tom Fletcher, 28, agreed: “You just have to laugh because it seems ridiculous and far-fetched – we never thought it. Three weeks ago we were just praying we’d sell some tour tickets.”
Dougie Poynter, 26, shook his head in disbelief admitting: “It feels like we’re being punked.”
Fellow I’m A Celeb king of the jungle Matt Willis laughed: “Can you imagine if someone was punking us? I’d literally never leave my room again.”
James Bourne, 30, added: “I would say: ‘I knew it was too good to be true.’”
The lads were on buoyant form when I caught up with them.
The chemistry between them is genuine, and between Busted and McFly they have a hefty back catalogue of songs to more than entertain the royal park next summer.
Matt, 30, continued: “We’ll invite Harry, Wills and Kate down. It’s going to be insane – it’s the Queen’s garden.”
Harry Judd, 27, nodded: “If you’re going to play a park it’s got to be Hyde Park.”
