Danny wrote an interesting article on the Huffington post talking about how important it is to support young musicians.

Some of you may know me, others may not. For those who don’t, I’m Danny Jones: singer, songwriter, producer and a member of the band, McFly. This summer I will be fortunate enough to be a coach on ITV’s The Voice Kids. My recent experience as a coach hit close to home, and made me want to speak up about the importance of why we MUST support our nation’s musically-gifted kids.

I read an article recently by Dr. Ally Daubney of the University of Sussex and she warned us loud and clear that music could face extinction in secondary state schools throughout England. This got me thinking and was a real concern for me. You and I both know that if music is not offered in schools, it’s also unlikely to be offered at home. We need to all join forces now in supporting our kids that want to be involved in music. If we don’t, we will witness a generation of storytellers and overall trendsetters come and go without leaving its deserved cultural mark on our great nation.

Although the threat of music being eradicated in our schools is becoming more real, we can still help the UK’s younger generation leave its deserved cultural mark on this planet regardless of this potential threat. I’m convinced that there are three actions we can take to ensure we are doing everything possible to support the potential in our musically-gifted kids. The first is being vocal about our support. Showing the kids that they are backed every step of the way no matter what, and that we believe in their dream as much as they do.

Secondly, we must re-educate the kids on what failure actually is, and thus why they should not fear failure, whatsoever. Thirdly, we need to help our musically-gifted kids understand how what they learn in school will absolutely apply to their professional musical art in the future. If we can commit to take these three actions, I am confident we can save the next generation of Beatles, David Bowies and Rolling Stones.

McFly star Dougie Poynter is set to star in the latest film being crowd-funded on Cambridge platform SyndicateRoom.

Being produced by Boudica Indigo films, Kat and the Band will tell the story of a 16-year-old girl who lives her dream by taking a band on tour, despite having no experience of working in the industry and still being at school.

How Poynter, who has played bass in McFly since it formed in 2003, is unclear at present, but the 29-year-old has apparently been out in America trying to get his acting career off the ground in recent months, and this could be his big break.

Lead investor on the project is Ian Maiden, who has made two film investments in the past and is putting in £250,000 for this project.

I bet those kids enjoyed the surprise guest!

[x3]EVENTS AND APPEARANCES > 2017 > RED NOSE DAY, SUDBURY – MARCH 24

Youngsters at St Gregory Primary School in Sudbury were given a Red Nose Day treat as McFly drummer Harry Judd dropped in to meet the pupils.

In the run up to red nose Day, Comic Relief and Pinterest had invited teachers from schools across the country to save their Red Nose Day fundraising ideas on a Pinterest board for a teacher fundraising contest.

The competition organisers said the winning school would get a special visit from a mystery celebrity.

St Gregory’s staff pinned a host of fun fundraising ideas including a lunch-time rave, red nose bowling and a play dough day on its board, to scoop the mystery guest prize.

Following up on the competition prize, McFly drummer Harry Judd emerged as the mystery guest, who met pupils at the school and serenaded the pupils with a drum performance while they enjoyed a spontaneous Christmas dinner.

[x2]PHOTOSHOOTS > 2017 > GET FIT, GET HAPPY PROMOTIONAL SHOOT

The drummer will release Get Fit, Get Happy later this year, which will be part fitness plan and part memoir

MCFLY star Harry Judd has stripped off to launch his first fitness book, after transforming his body to tackle mental health issues.

The drummer is to open up about suffering from anxiety for the first time in Get Fit, Get Happy, which will tell how he has used exercise to conquer his demons.

The star will explain how he has used fitness to redress the balance in his life with a combination of exercise and dance to make fitness fun and accessible.

The 31-year-old musician has even created a video to promote the upcoming release, in which he shows off some of his workout routine and gets topless.

Speaking about the book, Harry said: “I’ve used exercise to overcome the strains and stresses of some of the most difficult moments in my life.

“These are issues that I know many of us have, and I’m so excited to show everyone how it’s possible to use exercise in a way that is fun, fast and free to get your head in the right place, to feel good about life and to feel great about yourself.”

It promises to reveal details of the “richly researched” fitness plan behind his buff body.

During his time in McFly and supergroup McBusted, he has notched up 19 hit singles including seven No1s, as well as two No1 albums.

But his chiselled body isn’t only a result of his time in the gym.

Harry, who has 14-month-old daughter Lola with his wife Izzy Johnston, famously won Strictly Come Dancing in 2011.

The book will be published through Coronet, an imprint of Hodder & Stoughton.

Publisher Charlotte Hardman said: “Harry is incredibly passionate about encouraging people to embrace fitness as a way to make themselves feel better and to spread a bit of happiness.

“By laying bare his own life story and sharing his own personal experience of the benefits of exercise, Harry will inspire others to do the same.

“He shows us that we don’t need expensive kit, a gym membership or even lots of time to make a difference: this is a plan for everyone.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Harry and delighted about the potential for what we have to achieve together with Get Fit, Get Happy.”

[x2]CANDIDS > 2017 > FULL MONTY REHEARSALS, LONDON – FEBRUARY 15

The ITV special will be a tribute to the Full Monty to celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary

MCFLY singer Harry Judd, Towie’s Elliott Wright and more will strip naked as part of a Full Monty tribute show on ITV.

The stars will be joined by dancer Wayne Sleep, Emmerdale’s David Metcalfe actor Matthew Wolfenden and Olympic swimmer Mark Foster after The Sun exclusively revealed that the film’s 20th anniversary will be marked with an ITV special in April.

Pointless presenter Alexander Armstrong will host the show, and it will end with six stars taking their clothes off at the London Palladium.

A source previously said: “The six who do sign up will be whipped into shape before performing their routine at a working men’s club in Sheffield in April.

“They will have to pluck up courage for the big reveal. But ITV are expecting the cast will get into the spirit and won’t be tempted to leave their hats on.”

Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo will prepare the stars for the show, which is supported by charities Movember, Cancer Research, Everyman and Prostate Cancer UK.

The stars were pictured for the first time as they arrived for rehearsals in London today.

The source went on: “As far as the team are concerned, this is a chance to celebrate a classic movie moment and raise awareness for charity.

“They are hoping that will appeal to the celebs they have in their sights.

“If they get the right people, they are certain the show will go down a storm with viewers, and give a real boost to all of the charities now involved.”

The Full Monty, which starred Robert Carlyle as the leader of a motley crew of unlikely strippers, was a box office smash when it was released in 1997.

Despite a budget of under £3million, it made over £200million in ticket sales and was later adapted into a musical in 2000 and a play in 2013.

Hopefully we’ll hear some new McFly music soon!

McFly’s bassist Dougie Poynter says the group have done a lot of “hard” work on the sixth album, but won’t be rush releasing it

McFly have finished a “good chunk” of their new album.

The ‘All About You’ group – which also features Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter – haven’t released a new record since ‘Above the Noise’ in 2010, and the hunky bass player says they are well on the way to completing their sixth studio effort, but he says they won’t be rushing to release it.

He told The Sun newspaper: Writing is fun but it’s hard.

“It takes a lot of time but we were away for a while.

“It won’t be out until it’s ready but we got a good chunk done.”

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old rocker is set to star in upcoming British film ‘The Academy’ after he landed the part after taking acting lessons and successfully auditioning to play superhero Hale, who is “captured in a big plot twist”, and has teased that he has more movie work in the pipeline.

He added: “I’ve started shooting the film.

“That’s here in the UK. There are other things too, but I can’t say. I’m very excited.”

A previous update on their eagerly-anticipated record came from drummer Harry, 31, in December, who said their break made them a better band.

At the time, he said: “We definitely want to keep progressing and growing as a band. Danny has been working a lot in the studio this year in production, Tom is a brilliant writer and Dougie has been out acting and doing other things so he’ll be bringing in some new influences and stuff.

“There are already a couple of songs that I think we’ve got that we all love, and hopefully we’ll all be going in the same direction.”

Harry is giving the new Busted album a 9/10 apparently. Which song do you think he doesn’t like?

Harry Judd has admitted he’s not a fan of one of Busted’s songs on their new album ‘Night Driver’

Harry Judd told Busted’s Matt Willis there is only one song on their new album ‘Night Driver’ which he skipped.

The McFly drummer was all “fired up” after hearing their comeback LP – their first in three years since 2003’s ‘A Present for Everyone’ – and is thrilled the trio are back with together as a three with Charlie Simpson, who quit the rock/pop group in 2005 and previously vowed never to return.

And, although he hasn’t named the track, he admits he feels “rude” for pointing it out.

Asked if he’s heard the new record, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “I have checked it out actually I was on What’s App with Matt [Willis] and James [Bourne] just the other day just to take a moment to congratulate them and tell them I was loving the album.

“It’s really cool I was saying to Matt there was only one song that I skip which is pretty good going.

“He was like, ‘Which song?’ And then I was like, ‘I can’t say, I already regret saying it because it’s quite rude!’

“I’m genuinely loving it and it’s good to have them back as a three. The Busted album has got me fired up.”

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old sticksman recently revealed ‘Getting It Out’, from Busted/McFly supergroup McBusted’s 2014 self-titled LP, will be on McFly’s new album.

He previously said: “One of the songs from album six ended up on the McBusted album, which was ‘Getting It Out’. We recorded it in Texas but then recorded it for the McBusted album.”

And Harry recently admitted that McFly fans “hated” McBusted – which was also comprised of Busted’s Matt and James and himself, Tom, Dougie Poynter and Danny Jones.

The hunky rocker says they are keen to get new music out because their fans were “frustrated” with the ‘Air Guitar’ band.

He said: “It’s been a while since we have just been McFly and a lot of our fans are frustrated.

“Although McBusted has been a success, a lot of McFly fans were like, ‘I hate McBusted!'”
