A YOUNG band from Bebington hit the right notes in a competition to win the chance to suppport chart-toppers McFly.
Notion beat more than 1,000 other hopefuls to the final 50 of the pop group’s Battle of the Bands competition.

McFly’s Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter then selected a winner for each of the 26 dates in their Keep Calm and Play Louder UK tour.
Notion were chosen to support the band at their 02 Academy gig in Leeds on March 17.
Eighteen-year-olds Peter Pegasiou, Tom Davis and Danny Byrne formed Notion a year ago and combine music with studying for their A levels at Wirral Grammar School for Boys and Birkenhead Sixth Form College.
Peter is singer/songwriter and guitarist, Tom is on drums , and Danny is bass player and backing vocals.
Peter told the News: “We got a call from McFly’s agency who told us we had been successful.
“At the gig we’ll be playing to over 2,500 people.
“They said that McFly saw our video and music and loved the energy and genre of music.
“It means a lot to us to have been chosen and the amount of support we have received.
“This is a big opportunity for us, especially because we’re still young.”
The band entered the competition with their self-penned song Same old Page.
Peter said: “We put a lot of effort in to rehearsing and juggle it with studying, which is important to us but we are very passionate about the band.
“Our music ranges from indie to rock and pop and we write our own songs.
“We enjoy playing our own music.”
Last year Notion were picked to play at the borough’s first youth festival Wirral Youthfest and last month supported the Lightning Seeds in Liverpool.
Danny said: “We played to over a thousand people when we supported the Lightening Seeds, that was amazing.
“We are very busy doing gigs at the moment.
“We love playing so much. It is the only thing we see doing in our life.”
Tom added: “We have different music tastes so we all bring different things to our music.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to play with McFly.”
