McFly won the Kid’s Choice Award for Best Band of the Decade and they received the award during the McBusted tour rehearsals the day after Danny’s birthday. Watch below a video of the moment they receive it, It’s not the best quality video but is all I found for now. THanks to @EmilygothEmi for sending me the link.

Vix Adams is McFly and McBusted’s stylist and during a recent interview she talked about how it was to work with McFly in the Love Is On The Radio video.

What’s the most interesting/unusual job you have worked on/ celeb worked with?

By far the most interesting and fun job I have done was styling the music video for ‘Love is on the radio’ with McFly. It included mini-me versions of the band featuring children, dogs, fire eaters, line dancers, roller skaters, contortionists, you name it and the video had it in. It was definitely one of the most fun day’s work I have had, which always produces great results when the cast and crew are all bouncing off each other’s energy.

WE DON’T KNOW WHETHER TO LAUGH OR CRY

In case you’ve somehow missed it, it happens to be WWF’s Earth Hour today between 8.30pm and 9.30pm – and obviously that’s pretty darn exciting.

During this time, we’re all supposed to be turning off our lights to help symbolise how we want to protect the planet and all that jazz – but if you thought you’d be a bit bored sitting in the dark tonight, why don’t you have a listen to actual Dougie Poynter’s playlist when you do it?

Yep, Dougie’s gone and picked his fave ‘stars and lights’ themed songs to help you get in the planet saving mood and besides picking some total tunes, he’s also referred to himself as ‘a bass player with such dreamy eyes’. HAVE A LOOK THEN:

Lights

McFly – Shine A Light. I really hate the band but the bass player has such dreamy eyes.

Finch – What It Is To Burn. Super old school post hard core from when I was a kid shaaaaayyy baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarnz!

Death Cab For Cutie- I Will Follow You Into The Dark. Just a really rad tear jerker.

Coldplay – Fix You. You probably guessed this was coming.

Blink 182- Asthenia. It’s about being in outer space and seeing the world from a different perspective and wondering if you should come back or not… I think.

Stars

Mcfly- Star Girl. Who doesn’t love a song about falling in love with an alien?

Ellie Goulding- Starry Eyed. Sick voice. Babe. (AGH).

Babylonzoo- Space Man. This is the first sing I ever bought!

Areosmith- I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing. Song from one of the sexiest movies of all time… Armageddon.

Blink 182- Aliens Exist. My most favourite band in the world, without this band I would not be playing music today!

WELL THEN, what do you make of this?

Check below a list of songs that Dougie suggests us to listen to during today’s #EarthHour

It’s a pretty cool planet we live on. But it’s just that – a planet. One planet. As far as I know we haven’t got another one stored away anywhere! So we all need to do our bit to look after it. It’s not always easy being green but there’s loads of things we can all do to do our bit. To show my support for the planet this Saturday I’ll be heading down to London’s Southbank Centre to take part in WWF’s annual event Earth Hour. It’s a really simple thing you can do too.

Basically people from all over the world join together to switch off their lights for one hour to show they care about our brilliant planet. People do all sorts from candlelit dinners, stargazing and torch lit walks to celebrate. Loads of people then go ‘beyond the hour’ and do little things to live a more sustainable lifestyle and take action for the planet. Last year we saw the awesome power of people with the world’s first Earth Hour forest created in Uganda and more than 100,000 people supported a petition on forest legislation in Russia. It’s also pretty cool watching iconic landmarks like Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament turn off their lights. Last year I performed at London’s Southbank with McFly in panda onesies but this year we’ve handed over the mic to Sophie Ellis-Bextor who will perform her acoustic set by candlelight. So come on world get involved and take part in Earth Hour! Check out WWF’s Earth Hour Live on Saturday 29 March at 8.25pm here. Or you can chill out in the dark when the lights go out with my special Earth Hour playlist – songs with a lights and starry theme!

Light songs
1. McFly – Shine A Light. I really hate the band but the bass player has such dreamy eyes.
2. Finch – What It Is To Burn. Super old school post hard core from when I was a kid shaaaaayyy baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarnz!
3. Death Cab For Cutie- I Will Follow You Into The Dark. Just a really rad tear jerker. 4. Coldplay – Fix You. You probably guessed this was coming.
5. Blink 182- Asthenia. It’s about being in outer space and seeing the world from a different perspective and wondering if you should come back or not… I think.

Starry songs
1. Mcfly- Star Girl – Who doesn’t love a song about falling in love with an alien?
2. Ellie Goulding- Starry Eyed – Sick voice. Babe.
3. Babylonzoo- Space Man – This is the first sing I ever bought!
4. Areosmith- I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing – Song from one of the sexiest movies of all time… Armageddon.
5. Blink 182- Aliens Exist – My most favourite band in the world, without this band I would not be playing music today!

*STARTS CAMPAIGN FOR MCSOS TO HAPPEN ON THE WHERE WE ARE TOUR*

Okay, so if you’re ovaries are still perfectly fine and still beating or whatever they do after the news that McBusted are joining 5SOS and One Direction on the Where We Are tour, you might wanna get them in bubble wrap or something. Why? ‘Cause the 5 Seconds of Summer lads have been discussing debut album deets and chatting about their McFly collab.

Yup – as She Looks So Perfect rides high in the chart and the 5SOS fam gains new fangirls and boys by the second Ashton, Luke, Michael and Calum have been big ol’ Danielle Teasers about their new tunes. Agh.

Having a chinny chin chinwag with the Daily Star, Luke teased: “We lived [in the UK] for six months when we first started writing our album. We wrote with loads of UK people like Roy Stride from Scouting For Girls and a track called Take It Away with the boys from McFly.”

“Because nothing’s been released yet we’re not sure what is going to make the album. It’s crazy, we’ve got at least 30 songs we all really love and I like them too much to give them away to anybody else. Some will be B-sides, but we all have personal favourites so it’s going to be a struggle.”

Well if The Only Reason and Heartache on the Big Screen got EP status, we’re gonna need this new stuff in and around our eardrums STAT.

What d’ya reckon, then? Excited to hear the McFly collab? Comments, puhlease.

This saturday Dougie as ambassador for the WWF will do the Countdown to this year’s Earth Hour and he will also switch off the lights.

This Saturday (29 March) a series of events, including music performances and flashmob stunts, will take place across London and the UK to mark WWF’s (The World Wide Fund for Nature) Earth Day.

The event, which encourages people worldwide to switch off non-essential lights for one hour to show their commitment to the planet, will kick off with singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor revealing a huge light switch at Jubilee Gardens on London’s Southbank to launch the countdown to the evening switch-off.

Later in the evening she will perform an exclusive set by candelight at London’s Southbank Centre, which will be live-streamed over the internet. Dougie Poynter of music group McFly will countdown to Earth Hour and switch off the lights for the performance.
