Yesterday McBusted did a lot of press to promote their three new outdoor gigs this summer and among those interviews Mark Meets interviewed James about the tour and future McFly/Busted projects.

Busted star James Bourne chats with MarkMeets in a new exclusive interview about McBusted’s upcoming tour and plans for the future.

What can fans expect from the upcoming tour?
“A lot of the planning for the tour hasn’t begun yet in terms of the show!” (Laughs).

What about the music?
“We have a lot of songs to choose from so we don’t know what the set-list is going to be plus the six of us have to agree”!!

Will it be fun working it out?
“Yeah, it’s gonna be fun doing the set-list. This is what I hope will happen…we’ll have a set-list for the main set though part of other sets will change nightly”.

Having written quite a few of the tracks for McFly, are you more proud to perform their songs or Busted’s?
“I love playing the songs I wrote, it doesn’t matter to me who wrote them, I’m proud of all of them. I’m also hoping to perform to McFly songs too that I didn’t write! Whatever the set-list is our aim is to play what people wanna hear, we’ll play the hits”.

Are you playing any other songs from your back catalogue?
Hopefully part of the set we’ll play some albums tracks as well.

Being a big Michael Jackson fan can we expect any covers on the tour?
I would cover a Michael Jackson song. I do an acoustic version of ‘Human Nature’. It’s not really a solo thing so it probably won’t be on the tour. Tom and I have written so many songs together over the years, maybe Tom and I will do a song together on stage cos we’ve never done that!

Talk us though how the McBusted thing came about?
I was backstage with McFly in Manchester and they were joking around saying ‘Why don’t you go and play something’. So I went out on stage and played some songs! The reaction was crazy…not like I was playing at someone else’s show but as If It was my own show. The reaction to the Busted music was so strong that people made us offers!!!
The idea for us to play together came later, it spiralled from there.

Who is more excited for the tour, Busted or McFly?
It’s been a long time since Matt and I have done anything like this. It’s new and exciting but in a way it’s new for McFly too…they’ve been a band for 10 years but to be back at this level is quite incredible.

Will you enjoy it more this time around?

I enjoyed it so much the first time and I know I will enjoy it this time equally though from a different perspective.
It feels just like how it did 10 years ago. In some ways it feels like we are even more successful than last time (Demand for tickets) which is mind blowing really. It’s like we’re doing residencies in each city-it’s CRAZY!

Matt is starring in TV’s ‘Birds Of A Feather’, what is happening after the tour? Will you be making any music or will you be acting?
I’ve just got offered a part in a film that starts shooting in March before the tour. I can’t announce it yet but that is an exclusive! I’ve also written a new musical. You will remember my last musical got nominated for a Novello awards (We discuss Loserville in depth).

Will the musical be a sequel?
It’ll be completely different this time round. This time I’m collaborating with the guy from ‘Spring Awakening’ – a broadway show. Having heard of Loverville he got in touch with me and we’ve written the music together. That is a big project that I’m looking forward too.

How it Matt?
He’s great. I’m looking forward to writing new songs with Matt again and also more for McFly.

Maybe one day if McFly become McFly again, Maybe Busted is Busted. Who knows?

This June McBusted with support from Backstreet Boys, Scouting For Girls, 5ive and Diversity perform at Weston-super-Mare Beach Saturday 28th June and Ipswich Chantry Park Sunday 29th June.

The tradition continues, the boys are going to be Danny’s best men:)

McFly star Danny Jones and his fiancée Georgia Horsley have spoken exclusively to HELLO! about their engagement and wedding plans.

Danny’s McFly bandmates Tom Fletcher, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter will be among his six best men on his wedding day.

“We’re like brothers,” he said of his bandmates. “Our backgrounds are so different but we all get on amazingly well. We have a connection on another level to everything else.”

The couple got engaged on holiday in Cyprus last July, and denied rumours that Danny had popped the question previously. “This is definitely the one and only proposal,” said Danny.

Added Georgia: “We were at an event and this journalist came up to us and said, ‘So any wedding bells for you two?’ Because we like having a laugh, I said, ’Oh well, he’s asked me five times and I keep saying no,’ and Danny was saying, ’She keeps turning me down.’ It was meant as a joke but then it went to print and people think he has proposed before.”

The couple told HELLO! about their romantic proposal on a beach. Danny had arranged a five-course meal and had the De Beers engagement ring hidden under the table. He asked Georgia when she wanted to get married. Georgia replied, “Well, when you bloomin’ propose.”

“He said to me, ‘No, say it.’ So I did and he said, ‘What about if I do it now?’ With that I put my head in my hands, started bawling and when I looked up he was down on one knee in front of me, tears billowing out of his eyes, and said, ‘Will you be my future Mrs Jones?'”

TWO of the UK’s biggest acts – McFly and Busted – have joined forces for a special outdoor live show on Weston’s beach and will be joined by one of the biggest boy bands of all time.

The two groups – who on tour will be known as McBusted – will be lighting up the stage with America’s sensational Backstreet Boys in a second show from AEG Live.

The company has already announced it will be presenting a new pop show on the beach in June called the South West Live show, featuring Jessie J, Jason Derulo and The Saturdays, and will hold a second the day before, on June 28.

McBusted and the Backstreet Boys will also be joined by Scouting For Girls, 5IVE and Britain’s Got Talent winners and dance act Diversity.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday and to find out more about the show, with an interview from McBusted, pick up a copy of the Mercury on Thursday.

The pop rock supergroup will be supported by the iconic boy band at Hyde Park, with other gigs at Weston-super-Mare beach and Ipswich Chantry Park

The McBusted train just keeps on rolling, and the supergroup is picking up steam with a huge announcement for the summer.

The band – made up of members of McFly and Busted, obviously – will play two massive outdoor shows in June and they’ve got a host of exciting friends along for the ride.

If we had to choose one we’re most excited about, we’d have to go for the Backstreet Boys, who will also be the group’s guests when they play Hyde Park on July 6 .

Rounding off the exciting bill are Scouting For Girls, 5ive and Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity.

The gigs will take place at Weston-super-Mare beach and Ipswich Chantry Park on 28 and 29 June respectively, and the combined Year 3000 and All About You hitmakers are excited for the shows.

In a statement, McBusted said: “We can’t wait to be adding further outdoor shows and look forward to playing all the McFly and Busted hits.”

It’s bound to be a great weekend, with none of the supergroup likely to have grown up despite their age – indeed, Tom Fletcher was forced to get a tattoo on his foot after losing a bet with his band mates.

McBusted are coming to East Anglia – and they’re bringing US pop sensations The Backstreet Boys with them.

They will play Chantry Park in Ipswich on June 29 – the day after Jessie J, Rizzle Kicks, The Saturdays, Union J, The Vamps, Jason Derulo and more acts still to be revealed perform there as part of East Coast Live.

McFly and Busted announced they were joining forces for a 35-date 2014 arena tour, including three sold-out O2 shows and a headline show at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park, last year.

The have an arsenal of hits under their belts – from Busted’s What I Go To School For to McFly’s All About You – and boast 14 combined number ones, 20 combined top three singles, 28 combined top 10 singles, 15million combined record sales, three combined Brit Awards, two Kings of the Jungle and one Strictly Come Dancing champion.

McBusted – Matt Willis, James Bourne, Harry Judd, Dougie Poynter, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher – said: “We can’t wait to be adding further outdoor shows and look forward to playing all the McFly and Busted hits.”

It has been confirmed that ex-Busted member Charlie Simpson, from Woodbridge, won’t be joining the group at the Ipswich concert.

The Backstreet Boys are one of the biggest selling boybands in pop history. They’ve sold 130m records around the world and are enjoying a triumphant return to the charts since reforming in 2012 and releasing new album In A World Like This last year.

“We haven’t played on the east coast of the UK before so we’re looking forward to seeing all your faces and can’t wait,” said the band, known for hits like I Want It that Way and Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).

Also on the bill is English indie rock band Scouting For Girls, 5IVE and Diversity.

Councillor Bryony Rudkin, Ipswich Borough Council’s culture portfolio-holder, said: “The Ipswich summer is just getting better and bigger. This McBusted concert, with big name back-up acts, comes a day after the Jessie J and Rizzle Kicks event in Chantry Park.

“It proves, again, the biggest names want to play here. This weekend will be a highlight of the Ipswich Arts Festival and attract many thousands of people, which will have a beneficial knock-on effect for the town’s businesses.”

Tickets for the AEG Live concert go on sale 10am this Friday from
